On Becoming Muslim:
a Study in Beauty
The Muezzhin sings the invitation, "Come to prayer. Come to felicity."
"Guide us, O God, on the path of Perfect Harmony,
the path of those whom You have blessed with the gifts of Peace, Joy
Serenity and Delight..."

--The sunset prayer is the intersection of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. It is the story of reunion, comprising the full range of creation, life, death, and return.
We pray at night before surrendering to sleep--to that which is our daily rehearsal for the mystery of Timelessness.
As the birds begin to wake, we give up the warmth and comfort of our beds to pray the dawn prayer. We come to prayer. We come to felicity. Prayer is better than sleep.
In the Middle of the day, we leave our trades behind and again touch our heads to the carpet in prayer.
